Savage Road: What This Book Has That Annihilation Road Doesn’t

description

So many people have asked why I have the same couple in two books. A lot of readers thought there was an error and that the descriptions had to be wrong. But there wasn’t a mistake. Annihilation Road was Savage and Seychelle’s story of how they met and fell in love. Savage Road looks at how that love affects and is affected by the people around them. Specifically, how it is affected by and how it affects Torpedo Ink and its members.

Savage’s story was one I wasn’t sure I’d even write. It’s complicated and sad. I knew his would require a trigger warning at the front of the book. Not everyone would want to read this kind of material, or something this intense, or complicated. But I feel it’s important that survivors realize there are happy endings for them. Not easy ones. But, there’s hope.

description

Torpedo Ink would want Savage to be happy. To be safe. Seychelle wasn’t going to have an easy time of being accepted. They knew Savage was already on the edge. If he found love and his woman couldn’t handle it and left, what would happen to Savage? Everyone wanted to be careful. Not everyone thought of “careful” the same way and that caused some issues.

description

In Savage Road we already know Savage and Seychelle love each other. But as we all know; love isn’t always enough. That is the question – Is love enough?

This book looks at that but it also takes a deeper look at Torpedo Ink and its members. The motorcycle run is dangerous for so many reasons and it puts relationships to the test. A great deal is going on with and around Torpedo Ink that will force Viktor and some of the others to do potentially unforgivable things.

This is still a romance. But it is also very much a story of Torpedo Ink itself.

Annette Thanks for that explanation of the two books for Savage and Seychelle, especially the explanation on Savage Road ( listening to that one now). At the end of Annihilation, I wasn't all that confident about the two staying together as, to me, Seychelle is not really comfortable in the relationship, so I'll read Savage Road with the hope all will work out in the end.

Carol L Cridge It's not a tender love story but it has so many tender moments. It's deep-well done! The horrific abuse, the tragedy of the Torpedo Ink members past's makes it all the more gratifying that they find peace and love. In any form. Survival in any form is better than not surviving. I love how Torpedo Ink was truly concerned for Seychelle and Savage, willing to sacrifice their comfort and friendship to ensure the pairs well-being. Physically and emotionally. I would say Savage the monster, found his soul when he believed it didn't exist. Great writing as always!

I agree. I want people to see that there is hope for survivors of SA.

thereadinggenie61 I enjoyed both books. I’ve always had a soft spot for Savage and Reaper and I so wanted a happy ending for them both… finding someone to love them so intensely made me very happy! I liked that the story was also centred around Torpedo Ink as a whole and can’t wait to read more stories about each of the characters. I have my theories of future relationships .. I think you’re giving us a few hints throughout:) ❤️😉

Cobi Helms I could hardly wait to get the second book after reading the first.I understand why there are two books.Just explaining the sexual context of Savages needs and all the causes and reasons and his life after all that and the club.I have kept up with all the club members you have written so far and the life that started out with to now and understanding their lives now.I feel sad for savage and keep hoping for an answer to help him and his brother Reaper.you certainly chose the right names for them and I love each one but Savage breaks my heart the most.

I'm so happy that you enjoyed both books. I know those can be intense.
I enjoyed writing more about what's happening with the club.

I always knew Savage's story would be difficult. Difficult to write as well as to read. I'm glad I wrote it and I hope people are like you and understand how broken he is and how important it was to save him.

Julie I have wanted Savage's story since his initial introduction. You did not disappoint. I can't even imagine the difficulties you encountered before and during the writing of these novels, but they came out wonderfully.

I love the Torpedo Ink novels. I think a lot about these men & women and what they endured. And I think about how they say Blythe still thinks they can be saved, but I think they've already saved themselves. I think what they need is to find acceptance, both in themselves and from others (even if it's just one other) that they are okay just as they are.

I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a purpose--yes, even horrific things. I wonder, where would Anya, Breezy, Soleil, Scarlet...any of them...be now, if these men were not what they are?

They did save themselves. I agree. But, their women help them accept themselves and find their humanity.

message 11: by Cobi (new)

Cobi Helms I agree, the women make the most impact on these men. They love them and accept them for themselves and the struggles they go through daily in their lives because of their past.I have to admire these women loving these men who were never loved, tortured and abused. So many obstacles to overcome and accept.I always fall for your most abused in your books,Z in the Black Dagger series is my favorite also.
Thank you for your books Ms.Feehan, sincerely Cobi Helms

I love giving even the most tortured soul a chance at love. The theme to all of my stories is hope.
I love JR Ward's books! She's a lovely person as well.

Dawn Pusey I love your books and the fact that you talk about the people within the books torpedo Ink.. you include the people in the town you talk about the Drake sisters this keeps me coming back to read your books a character pops into my head that I feel that you could take it a little bit further like for instance Victor‘s younger brother I think he needs a better understanding of a sibling i.e. I do hope you write another book that includes victor llya because Ilyas story it’s too clean its like he’s appreciated nothing and I feel he needs to respect his older brother and have a better understanding and appreciation for his brother because let’s face it Victor went through a lot for him. That’s my wish for another book about the Prakenskii brothers.. and as llyas wife will have only have boys let them adopt a little girl with all the abilities of the prakenskii.. now that would make for a really good read…

message 14: by Val (new)

Val When I read the first Torpedo Ink I wasn't sure if I'd like the books so I switched over to Drake Sisters and Sea Haven series and then decided to reread Judgement Road. I actually got a better understanding of the people and stories by reading them in that order. These books give you such a good insight into lives of people who have had to deal with adversities that most people can't even dream about and to see them find love and acceptance in the end is so uplifting, at least to me.
