Keep on Living

The clock is ticking as we gear up for 2022. Another year, another countdown. And of course, we can’t help but wonder what this next year has in store for us. Given the past couple years, can we be blamed for feeling a bit wary?

As I ask those around me how they are feeling of late or how they’d sum up their 2021 year, I keep hearing a resounding theme of tired. And personally, I’d have to say I agree. These past couple years have been exhausting. Work feels endless as the days blend. The ebb and flow of dealing with Covid is tiresome despite being necessary. And many of us just want to relax and get back to what we term as ”normal”. And this is coming from someone who did have the good fortune to take a vacation this year.

As time goes by, I, like many, find myself wondering what “normal” really looks like and whether it will ever be what we were used to only two years ago. My initial thought is ”no” but I don’t have a crystal ball. I will say that I’d be shocked if the world didn’t continue to get more complex.

So what does one do? In my opinion, we can only live our lives. That doesn’t mean we throw caution to the wind, but we also can’t simply stop living indefinitely. It’s learning to navigate life’s ups and downs and making sure we don’t get too tired or burnt out. Believe me, I’m trying to take my own advice.

Happy writing this week!
