a maddening paradox

hi there, reader, if i may call you. i am gleaming with joy (the kind you earn after years of sorrow) because i won GOLD place for the first time in a poetry contest on an online platform. of course i’m going to share it with you:

“the wise warn the weary
of the menacing wolf
underneath sheep skin
yet only the foolish may know
to be wary of the wool
tucked beneath wolves skin
for the unpredictable
is often more threatening

as millenials wander in wonder
wondering whether one should
be wandering in this era
like hippies trapped
in the wrong generation

the questions we’re afraid to ask
hide the answers we keep searching for
nothing makes sense
this those who actually think know
for there are no wise nor foolish
it is all a maddening paradox”

i was about to sleep, when i was hit by a little thought, and suddenly an epiphany crashed through me, a whiplash of emotion lead to perpetual ideas. i didn’t know it right then, but that was the last time my life would be the the same – ordinary circumstances – i kept living.

“Th-Th-The, Th-Th-The, Th-Th… That’s all, folks!”
