Rethinking the Eastman series

A Magical Moment is the second book of the Eastman series, mainly because the heroine is the best friend of the protag in the first book of the series, Kara Smith.
But, the heroine of A Magical Moment, Taylor, is portrayed in Heart's Desire as a true psychic. So, that book takes on a paranormal and suspense tone that is out of keeping with the other books in the series.
