Futility or The Wreck of The Titan

Ever heard of the S.S. Titan? She was the world’s largest luxury liner, deemed “unsinkable”. Hit an iceberg and sank while crossing the North Atlantic on a misty April night. Not enough lifeboats on board. Enormous loss of life. Her tragic story was the subject of the novel Futility or the Wreck of the Titan by writer Morgan Robertson. Unoriginal? Hardly... it was published in the year 1898, a full 14 years before the R.M.S. Titanic set sail. Who’d’ve Thunk?

P.S. The original edition of Robertson’s novel was available for
checkout in the Titanic’s second-class library.
