Dog of the Year

In 1966 the FIFA World Cup trophy was stolen from public display in London only four months before the finals. Panic reigned for seven days until a dog called Pickles found the trophy wrapped in newspaper under a suburban hedge.
The thief was never found, but FIFA was so grateful, they invited Pickles to the celebration banquet when England won the World Cup. He was also given £6,000 reward money, made Dog of the Year and scored the lead role in a feature film called ‘The Spy with a Cold Nose’. Who’d’ve Thunk?
