Reader B: What did you do at the nuclear institute in China?

Helen: I was an architect there, designing hotels, residential buildings, etc. And I was never involved any nuclear power plant design.

From late 1980, the Chinese government started cutting fundings or privatising the state-owned enterprises. In order to make up the missing fund, Institute 1970 formed a new unit specially undertaking civil construction projects on top of the nuclear power plants. Of course, we knew the overall situation at the institute.
