The review…
WARNING!!!!
Hotel and location: Econo Lodge, Durant, Oklahoma
The hotel is not the kind you take your family too. My mom and I only stayed here because we were exhausted and would be hitting the road early.
I booked through Expedia but when i went to check in the hotel charged me a $50 upfront deposit that would be returned once I checked out.
The room (106) was a good size however, the door to the room looked like it had been kicked in. Walls were patched up. On the wall by the trashcan was disgusting stuff. I coule tell it was from things being thrown into the trashcan. Wasnt even attempted to be cleaned or wiped down.
The towels were very dingy. One of the “washcloths” was beyond stained.
At the end of our visit, we piled together the dirty linen we used and made sure all trash was in trashcans. (My mom used to be a housekeeper so she’s instilled proper etiquette into me for leaving a hotel room.)
I checked out early and was told the $50 deposit would hit around 11am, when the other guests started checking out.
Around noon i checked my bank account and $50 was there. I was looking at my account today and saw a $25 charge from Econo Lodge.
I just got off the phone with a Kristy, who said she’s the manager. She said i was charged because the housekeeper said we ruined bath mat, towels, and washcloths. This has me floored.
I travel all over the country doing reviews on hotels, reataurants, attractiona, and more. Trashing others property is not in my nature nor will it ever be. So, now i get to dispute this charge with my bank.
CHECK YOUR BANK ACCOUNTS! They gave me my $50 back the day I checked out and two days later charged me $25! I almost didn’t catch it. I had seen the $50 refunded so I assumed I was good. No! Shady!
