The customs of the world incriminate
For award to rise above the stereotypes
With pride, my mother I nominate

My support, my teacher, my idol
Growing up her influence was vital
Feminism, she embodies in herself
My mother’s prowess is still a riddle

She resisted but never compromised
With her responsibilities she always complied
Loved her career and cared for family
Balancing life, my mother has me mesmerized
