Ex-kitty Katie much improved

Yay, Katie my ex-kittie's kidney numbers are back to normal after a horrible scare and a long stay at the emergency hospital! The poor kitty needed subcutaneous fluids for a week (which meant daily vet visits since she was too distressed to let me or my ex do it for her.) But now she's her old self again! Except for the excessive shaving in the groinal area that accompanied her surgery. POOR BABY.

Here she is modeling boxes with Puff man.

Sherry F Happy to hear that!

Jordan Price Thanks Sherry, it's a huge relief.

VJ Summers Oh, poor Katie! We did about six months of sub-cu fluids with my ex-kitty, Cobweb (ex because my mother STOLE HER and won't give her back). She's usually not a particularly lovey cat, but I guess she got the whole "I'm sick and need help" thing, because three times a week she allowed me to wrestle her down and give the fluids. (The man in my life, a Wedgie named Gandalf, gets Vitimin B12 every other week - any more feline illnesses and I'll be rivaling Michael for vet skilz without vet skoolz!).

So, yay for Katie. It so sucks to see your furry babies suffering...

Jordan Price They just tested Puffy's urine today and I had no idea they drew it with a needle through his side. Oh God. I am so freaked out.

I could totally see Michael staring the little furballs into submission with a cold stare and a firm grasp and just doing what needs to be done. Better him than me. I'm gonna go bury my face in Puffy now and apologize.

VJ Summers Oooh. A Michael moment.

I *miss* Wild Bill and Michael.

Yeah, I had to give the big guy his shot last night, and I found myself offering both treats AND an extra can of wet food in penance. I HATE that unhappy little noise he makes when I poke him.

Thank GOD the subcutaneous fluids days are over. That always reminded me of the commercial where this big, pointy straw gets jammed into the orange... That needle is HUGE!

Teagan Glad to hear she's doing alright! Kitties at the vet are always terrifying to me. I can't function until I know they are okay.

And I know it's because he's brachycephalic, but Puffy looks adorably grumpy in that photo. <3

Jordan Price Ha ha, I had to look up "brachycephalic!" You're so right. Persians tend toward a very sweet disposition but they do look pretty grumpy. Right now I'm sure he's lurking around, telepathically willing me to give him some treats.

On a vet day I'm lucky if I can do anything at all. I'm just a basket case.
