Little River by Dadfire

I just finished reading a book that is not on Goodreads. But, it is such a good story, I wanted to share it with others. It is by Dadfire.

Little River is about a boy growing up in mid-twentieth century Arkansas. Each chapter tells about the mischief and predicaments he and his brother get themselves into. It is so funny! I really enjoyed the story.

The boy, Bean, lives on the family farm with his parents and his little brother, Jack. A hint of something ominous approaching begins to develop and is revealed when his father exhibits signs of alcoholism. His mother's compassion for his father's suffering is clearly shown in her loving kindness for her husband. His suffering ends in tragedy, but like all good stories, there is still hope.

Little River is told with an evident love and caring for characters and their little town. Whether friends, teachers, storekeepers, gas station owners, or train engineers, everyone in Little River plays a part in their wonderful community. I highly recommend it!
