Right now, I am reading this really funny book called Little River by Dadfire. It's not a Goodreads book, though, but I wanted to share it with you, because it is a really good story. It's about a boy growing up on a farm in Arkansas who gets into various predicaments and mischief, which is hilarious. What I really like about the book, though, is his very touching observations about his dad. His father not only farms his own land, growing soybeans and cotton, but he is the bad guy with the tenant farmers who may not be able to keep up their payments. So, he has to go and tell them they have to move out. The stress of being the bad guy wears on him and he turns to drinking, which is heartbreaking for Bean, the boy in the story, and his mother. So far, I've made it about halfway through the book. If you like a funny story that may remind you of your own childhood, this is a great one to read.
