There Is no Perfect Place To Be

Once I lived in a van and traveled around the Island. That means staying on different campsites. Every campsite I would go to was almost perfect. There was this one thing everywhere, that didn’t let that place be perfect, so it stayed almost perfect.

One campsite had mosquitos, another a lot of flies, one of them didn’t have showers, another was very windy. And the list can go on and on.

We, humans, are the masters of finding what doesn’t work for us. Imagine if we were that good at searching and focusing on what’s working in our lives.

At that point I was already aware of human nature, so I was observing myself and I was aware of my thinking. I would even joke before exploring a new place to stay “Let’s see what is that one thing that will annoy me here”.

When someone goes on a beautiful vacation and they come back, people ask them how it was and the answer is usually “Oh it was amazing, this and that” and here it goes we hear the glorious word “BUT”. “But the hotel didn’t have a pool, or kids couldn’t adjust to a time change or the birds were too noisy”.

It is not natural for us human beings to be delighted and to say that it was perfect, because perfection doesn’t exist.

No one, including me and you, is fully satisfied with their lives and experiences.

We have this expectation that we buy a house, rent it or go to a new place to explore and everything will go as planned. That all will be perfect and easy.

The majority of people want to run away from their city and to go explore all those “beautiful places” when they haven’t even explored their own town or city. People complain that they can’t afford to travel when if they were to drive few blocks they might stumble upon a place or a park that looks like heaven, a beautiful building they never noticed was there, a gallery, cafe, or a yoga place.

There really isn’t a perfect place unless you let that place be perfect.

When you focus on what’s working, what you like, what you enjoy, what went as planned, what brought you the joy you will automatically have a great experience, everywhere you go.

There is always something that works, goes according to our plans something that we enjoy. Shift your focus on that, focus on what you like and you will attract more things you can enjoy. Rather if you focus on what’s not working, you will manifest more things to be anxious about.

Energy flows where focus goes.

I believe that our superpower as humans is our ability to shift our focus as we want to. Whatever we focus on will determine how we would feel and live. So whenever you can please focus on what’s working in your life rather than what’s not.
