Am I doing too much, or not enough?

Happy Wednesday Scribblers, here we are another week into 2021 and these last two months feel so 2020, but you know what we are making progress and things are getting better. We need to keep our spirits up because we’ve got this. Look how far we’ve come and what we have already survived. Now if you recall, last week I shared with you some announcements (click here for the blog post) and that got me thinking. Am I doing too much, or not enough? I really don’t know.

K.S. Trenten I can't speak for sales because my own are terrible, but an important question is is there's something you'd rather be doing, that you feel you should be allocating more time to? Ultimately the ones who decides how to use your time is yourself. Maybe it's time to slow down on the podcasting and write more? Or maybe you need to recharge, do something to refresh your spirits and your creativity (which is important)?

M.D. That is what I'm trying to sort out, what I would rather be doing, honestly a lot of it is a nice break from the other. It gives verity, which I do like.

K.S. Trenten You might want to do two things. One is take some kind of a break, even if it's just to watch a favorite movie you have on DVD or you could stream. Second is have a conversation with yourself on paper...or on the computer. Take a moment to brainstorm all the reasons you wanted to write, you love writing, and what's currently missing in either your Work in Progress or your daily routine in general which you'd really like to make time for.

This has worked for me in getting me focused, in feeling like I'm accomplishing something even if my material success is dubious. The latter I have a feeling is dependent on having a lucky break of some sort, breaking through so you're noticed. I do feel we've got a better chance of being noticed if we're focused.

BTW, if I take my own advice, yet die without ever making a breakthrough myself, feel free to wag your finger at my grave or wherever my ashes are scattered and berate the ashes for being wrong. :) I'll have it coming. :)
