Regret of Failure?

Would you rather deal with failure or the regret of not trying at all?

The choices we make are critical. They are the key to our future and happiness. We are the sum total of every decision we make.

Failing to do something will cost you to live a life of regret. Most people don’t take the time to study their choices and become more skilled in mastering their decision-making abilities. There are a lot of people who are living, simply going through the motions of work, eat, sleep, and repeat.

They work, come home, eat, and sleep. They do this on repeat every day. When they finally get a day off, they have to clean and run errands and then repeat the cycle just to barely make a living.

They barely make enough money to spend on anything extra for themselves and even if they did have the income, they don't have time off to enjoy nice things. They want to be happy, but they never have time to journey or visit friends or do anything they find interesting. It’s a horrible position to find yourself in as a person. Being given time, but not knowing how to use it is extremely common.

I’ve been teaching my coaching clients, the feeling of regret is much worse than the feeling of failure. Risk and failure are a state of mind.

Nothing haunts you like what you didn’t do. Failure – whether of personal, professional, or even spiritual – is essential for personal expansion. You can’t be afraid to do what you need to do, even if it does not work out for you. At least you will be able to say you tried. The goal is to try to live life to the fullest. On your journey, you will experience some defeats. However, your defeats do not make you a failure.

Never regret your past. Rather embrace it as the teacher it is. Learn from your past so you can continue to improve in every area of your life. The goal is not to live a life of regret but to embrace each day, living life to the fullest.

If I fail, I remind myself, if I had not tried, I would not have known what it would have been like. Then I would be living in regret, which I think is even more depressing than failure. The constant thoughts of what would've, could've, or should've been would linger. So even though I failed, I tried something. I have no regrets about trying and I would do it all over again if I was given the opportunity, now having learned something.

Remember, regret is harder on the mind than failure. Failure is temporary. Regret is forever. Do not fear failure, but please be terrified of regret.

If you're not starting something today to improve your life or your situation because you're afraid (of failure or something else), you will come to regret it later. I promise.

Just start. Commit now to live in your life to the fullest!
