Less Fear, More Positivity

Why do we spend so much of our life in fear? I speak to folks every day who let fear rule their lives or even others who use fear to drive results from those around them. I love to read and this includes fiction as well as nonfiction. Most recently, I’ve spent a lot of time on an application called Blinkist. I love this application because it basically condenses a lot of nonfiction books into several “blinks” which allows the book to be summarized and you either walk away happy with a decent understanding of the message or you can purchase the book and read it thorough. Either way, I think the folks who thought this up were geniuses as it allows one to cover much more ground in a world where time is a precious commodity.

So back to fear and why I even brought this up… one of the themes I’ve been reading more and more is how positive reinforcement by others and ourselves can make a world of difference in the way we think, act and see the world. Basically, if we think positively or positively reinforce a behavior, we enable ourselves to continue making strides and doing well. Negative thoughts bring on negative results. I know there are probably numbers behind the science but I’m not going there today. My question to you (as a natural optimist) is what would you have to lose by giving it a try? Even if you didn’t have numbers to prove that you’re positive thinking would get you somewhere, would it hurt to try and look at the world differently? These days, I don’t think so. I think there is a lot of negativity out there and if anything, we could do with a little less fear and negativity and a little more positivity.

Have a safe week and happy writing!
