Why I Despise Pride

I despise pride and so should you! I am not referring to other people’s pride though I certainly find it distasteful, offensive, and unpleasant as perhaps you do as well. I despise MY OWN PRIDE when it crops up and so should you when it crops up in you. Perhaps you wonder. Why should we despise our pride? And what should we do when it arises in us? When it takes up residence in our hearts, when it comes bursting forth from our mouths, and when it appears in our actions, how should we handle it?
