July 9, 2020 – Phoenix, Ariz. – Some Days Are Darker, the Phoenix-based outfit that The Entertainer described as having “a sound that lies between Nick Cave and Chris Isaak,” debut the video for “Take Me Anywhere” via New Noise (https://newnoisemagazine.com/video-premiere-some-days-are-darker-take-me-anywhere/).

“Take Me Anywhere,” which is the second preview from the forthcoming release Love+Truth (July 31, Inferno Choir) with a video for “Wolves” (https://youtu.be/MKVTpKAQhdA) released in early June, has been described by singer/guitar player Lear Mason as an exploration of “the thrill of forbidden love. We don’t get to choose who we fall in love with, and there’s a danger in that. How far are you willing to go?" Album pre-orders are available here: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/somedaysaredarker/love-truth.

“I grew up across the river from Detroit, my mom exposed me to Motown while my dad was a fan of The Stooges and MC5,” said Mason upon the announcement of Love+Truth. “Growing up with that combination of music in our house made what now seems like an unusual pairing seem natural to me. I think you can hear that freedom and those influences in the music I make. I’m getting back to the early fifties style of recording where you just stand in front of the microphone, hit record, and play the song.”

Dubbed “an era-ambiguous amalgamation of goth-rock gloom and modern day crooner,” Some Days Are Darker’s debut release is “like the True Detective soundtrack meets the Pretty in Pink soundtrack.”
