Problem Solved

I’m a problem solver, always have been. Now that doesn’t mean that I like every solution I come up with, but sometimes that’s just the way it works out. And maybe in the moment it seems like nothing makes sense but of course hindsight makes everything a lot clearer.

So what problem are we dealing with? Well, as a world and a society, the problems we have are too numerous to count and quite overwhelming if we try to tackle them all at once. When it comes to these problems, we are better off choosing which one we are most passionate about and then following up on that issue. Passionate about climate change? Read about it, understand it and find out how you can effect change. Will your contributions change everything? Probably not but every little bit counts to make things better.

Today, I wasn’t trying to solve for climate change thank goodness, but what I had in mind, seemed just as daunting. You see, my five year old made the comment that he is excited for his grandma to come back in town because she plays with him and his brother all day. This comment was fine only it was followed by a comment that mama and papa work too much. He is right of course in that we work a good deal but I don’t know about too much— perhaps in his eyes and that may be enough. So of course off my mind goes trying to figure out how to live and pay bills yet work less or smarter. I know, this question is one many of us ponder and truth be told, I haven’t figured out the answer. And I’m not sure I will.

Life is a precarious balance and we are all just trying to make it. We never know what to expect or when the rug will be pulled out from underneath us. All we can do is take it one day at a time and one problem at a time and hope that our solutions are the right ones even if they aren’t the easy ones.
