This is an ancient conundrum...if we are not doing what we love to do are we doing nothing that matters? Is this the definition of boredom? I'm one of those writers who loves life and allows it to overwhelm and involve me. When I'm writing, I have to isolate myself. If not, the phone rings, and it's a friend, "Let's get a cup of coffee!" "Hell Yeah!" Says I, and off we go. In the words of one of my favorite poets, Jim Croce, "... there never seems to be enough time to do the things you want to do once you find them." It drives my family crazy that I will spend 10 to 12 hours rewriting a page one day, and the next, I will write 10 pages in a couple of hours! What I am trying to say, in a stream of consciousness kind of way, do not let your distractions be distractions, embrace them as a part of life and living.
