2020 is off to a great start

Only two months into the year and I'm feeling super productive. I've been writing a ton and I am really excited about a new series that will be published soon. Unlike the Olivia and Nate books, my new series is set in a small town. It was inspired by a trip I took over the summer to a similar town and it has opened up a whole new set of murders and plot twists. In the Eliza Kingston series, there's a lot of drama and murder and also a complicated romance. Eliza reconnects with a former flame when she moves to town, but their past is much more complicated than Olivia and Nate's. The key to writing is a lot of coffee (or tea) and removing distractions. I'm really good at the first part and really bad at the second part. I think it's impossible to remove distractions completely. I try to focus for smaller periods of time and that seems to work. Pride of Lions has been coming together surprisingly quickly for me and I'm having so much fun writing this story. I really hope my readers enjoy it. Picture Picture It's been fun to explore a whole new set of characters in a new setting, but I'm not quite ready to move on from Olivia and Nate completely. Book Eleven (!!!) in the Olivia Thompson series is up for pre-order and will be released on February 29th. I can't believe how long the series is now. When I first starting writing it, I thought it would only be a trilogy. Now, it's looking like it will go on for at least a few more books. I hope you all aren't sick of Nate and Olivia yet!
It's funny that when I first started writing Ring Around the Rosie, I hadn't planned to have Nate and Olivia get together until the end of the third book. I'd assumed their relationship would be more of a slow burn, but they had a different plan. It's been fun to see how their relationship has changed over time and write about them as parents. When I'm writing a story, I never really know if anyone else will like it. I write stories that I would want to read and I just have to hope that there are other readers out there like me. For anyone who has ever sent me a sweet message saying that they enjoy my stories, THANK YOU. It truly means the world to me. Now, I need to get back to writing.
