Your Words, Your Life Story: A Journal for Sharing Memories Your Words, Your Life Story: A Journal for Sharing Memories by J Q Rose

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I seem to have a bad memory. People I know sometimes talk about events in their past. Holidays, parties, visiting each other, celebrating Christmas and birthdays together. I bet a lot of you do that too. Except you really young folks who are doing all of these things at the present. Good grief, I do good to remember what I did yesterday.

Now, I've done a lot of genealogy on my family and have discovered a lot about them. But when I try to remember visiting with Grandparents, cousins and such, it's vague, sometimes. And that's where J. Q. Rose's book comes in.

She asks a question. "Why Tell My Story?"
Ah-ha. I'm hooked. Why, indeed? Who cares? She tells us. She also discusses the differences in an autobiography and a memoir. But one thing that is helping me is the timeline. Some blank pages are in the book for readers to discover their memories, and it is helping me. You just mark the years and write the good things that happened that year and also the bad. And I won't say any more because you'll want to find out when you have your own book. Believe me, it's great. Some memories are already coming back to me when I look at a certain year. There are a lot of blank pages to fill up in the book. It's going to be a lot of fun doing it too.
