This is in Maverick's POV. Last week Katie introduced her date that was joining them for the Ghost Tour adventure. Spike offers his hand.

This Week's Snippet Below.

Maverick shook it and was surprised it was firm but not intimidating. He shook Rowan's next.

"Listen up, everyone," Jarrod announced over the murmurs of conversation. "There can be no smoking on this hike since the brush is dry and I don't want to be responsible for the place going up in flames.

"I guess that means
me," Spike said, his voice gravely and Maverick had a hunch the man smoked
a pack a day, but he had to give him credit; he put the cig out without a fuss.

"If you'll follow me," Jarrod said and waved his mega-flashlight toward the path so they could follow the light with ease. His bright orange reflector vest helped, too.

"So how did you and Katie
meet?" Rowan asked as she kept in step beside Spike.

Maverick held Katie back. "Spike...was he a Buffy fan by chance?"
