Top 3 Books I Read in 2019
This post will highlight the best books I read in 2019. Books that I think everyone should check out and give a chance to. They're not necessarily books that were published this year, just ones that I found and read this year and thoroughly enjoyed. If you're interested check out my top lists from the past couple of years as well:
Top 3 Books I Read in 2017
Top 5 Books I Read in 2018
I decided to limit myself to 3 main choices this year, but it was difficult to do, so at the end of the post you'll find links to a few others that are also worth checking out.
Without further ado, here are the best books I read this year:
Currently by Sarah Mensinga
Genre: Steampunk Fantasy
My Rating: 5 Stars
Currently by Sarah Mensinga is an excellent book. I couldn't put it down as soon as I started reading. The world-building is amazing, the characters engaging, and the plot excellently paced.

Askaro of the Falcon by Lady Li Andre
Genre: Steampunk Fantasy
My Rating: 5 Stars
Excellent Steampunk novel. And the good news is you can enjoy it for free right now! Don't miss out.
Askaro of the Flacon is a story about a young man who has been born into a life of enslavement on the airship called the Falcon. As the ship gets nearer to docking in the capital city for the first time in seventeen years and Askaro gets nearer to his sixteenth birthday, he faces many adventures and dangerous situations.

Moon of the Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig Rice
Genre: Post-Apocalyptic
My Rating: 4 Stars
Moon of the Crusted Snow is a post-apocalyptic tale set in a northern Anishinaabe community. It has a much slower pace than your typical post-apocalyptic tale and while I found it a bit too slow at first, I do appreciate the way it took the time to show the characters dealing with their day to day survival and struggling to reconnect with their traditional ways and to overcome some of the horrors of their past including residential schools, their forced displacement from their original lands to this northern community, and more.

Other excellent Books I read this year:
The Collector by Stjepan Varesevac Cobets
The First of Shadows by Deck Mathews
Heroes Wanted: A Fantasy Anthology
Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor
Lost Lore: A Fantasy Anthology
