How it all began
All this started in October 2019, followed by the craziest months in my life. I’ve always loved reading, but never thought about writing before. It was triggered by a dream I couldn’t get out of my head. A switch was flipped inside my head. Suddenly all those words were there, inside me, pressing their way out.
I published a free fan-fiction short-story, "Blood Moon," playing in Aimee Easterling’s werewolf world, in October 2018 on AO3.
My pen-name Janina Carol (J.C.) Seal was created on Wed, Nov 14, 2018 at 10:32 AM. It was originally only created for the short story "Pool Party," I co-authored with Aimee Easterling. About the same time, I started writing "Fallen Angels".

It's amazing when that happens, isn't it? Just grabs you by the collar and forces you to type it out.

I'm slowly learning to compartmentize, but it's still hard to keep the words bottled up for a longer period of time. Looking back, his past year seems so much longer than the last ones. My second book will be published soon, and I'm almost finished with the first draft of the third.
So much has happened, it's sometimes still hard to grasp that this is me, my life, not someone else I'm reading about in a book.

Bottling up might not be a good idea, not unless you're rehashing dialogue - I do that. I'll never forget the first time I held my very first book in real life. On a computer screen is one thing, but actually a physical book in my hand - one that I created - it had my name on it. It was amazing.
Lucky you, mine is still only available as ebook. My current plan is to wait with the print version until all three parts are up, then publish a box version of the trilogy on amazon only, instead of going wide. That way, I can probably add the print option, or maybe use KU as well.
With bottling up, I meant a few hours, like, until I was home from work. In the beginning, it was really hard to hold onto the thought until I could write it down.
Now, I sometimes bounce a scene around in my head for several days, until it's completely finished inside my head. Then it's only a question of how fast the fingers can fly over the keyboard to type it all down.
Sounds like an awesome plan. For me, I needed the paperback version so I could sell them from here. I sell a few every summer, which means I get to meet the buyer. Most of the ones get a big kick out of being able to say they met the author of the book they have to show off.
