What happens when a little boy is responsible for the lives of a thousand colonists? A war in the middle of space. Zero G is a novel that takes the reader on a journey beyond anything I’ve read before. Zero G is funny, cute, creative and a lot for one kid to handle.
Zero wakes up before the ship even jumps into hyperspace, and the pilot is nowhere to be found. He's excited for while, thinking he can eat whatever he likes, do whatever he feels. Unfortunately, the AI system alerts him to some gruesome disadvantages to being awake when the ship prepares to make its jump. With no idea how to pilot a ship and no way of getting back into his cryopod, Zero had to figure out a way to survive the lengthy trip. Without dying.
But there are other obstacles at play. Soon Zero realizes he's not alone and has to do his best to protect the slumbering colonists and the ship. Can one boy manage such a feat- especially when the ones on board are pirates?
For me, the best part, next to the thrilling story, Zero G, was the amazing cast. Audible managed voice talents so phenomenal, the story was amped one hundred percent! It was amazing and I couldn't stop laughing. The music and sound effects brought on a powerful punch that let me know I immediately needed to share the book title with friends and family.
Zero G is a book for any reader, but primarily a middle grade novel. I suggest listening to it- don't read this one! I know, I know it sounds crazy but listening is the best! Dan Wells, the author knew what he was doing when he wrote this. I haven't read anything else by him... yet, but I most likely will now. Check it out while I move on to the next read and listen.
