Editing

I was just remembering when I did a little editing work one time.

I used to live in West Seattle in the mid nineties. There was a bus I rode that went down the hill through the woods down to a quieter residential beach area.  Just as the bus turned down into the woods, there was an old, moss-covered wall with a lot of graffiti on it. One quip that kept standing out to me every time I went by was the stupid and pompous statement:

MORPHEUS WILL HURT YOU BAD!

This bugged me. After many trips past seeing this annoying message, a friend and I finally walked all the way up there at night to do a little editing work. Afterward, it read:

MORPHEUS, WILL HURT YOU BAD!
