How do you celebrate when your book is completed?

For most authors out there, finishing a book is one of the most rewarding experiences around.

I recall when I finished my first (published) book; I was euphoric and felt like I could take on the whole world.

These days, I still get a big smile on my face, a thump in my chest, and my nerves are all tingly over the anticipation of showing off my latest baby to the world.

As for celebrations…they vary. I’ve gone out to dinner with my husband (or ordered in as we are both introverts), or bought something that will help me with either creating stories or something for the area in which I write. My favorite games are simulations like The Sims, Pharaoh, Caesar, you get the idea. Music will vary from pop to classical. My best writing music is alternative, especially for angsty characters (which I adore).

How about you? What’s your favorite way to celebrate months or years worth of labor to create your book?
