Fallen From Grace
They had it ALL, but they were not content with ALL; they wanted MORE. If more meant they had to break the law to get more, they did. However, this is when the Universe steps in and sets the scale of justice back into balance. Remember, the Universe’s book needs to be balanced at the end of the day. Who are They? I am referring to all the well-off Parents (fashion designer, actresses, famous rich families, business executives, lawyers, etc.) that for years engaged in the College Scam. As a parent, I understand wanting to provide your children with the best education in the country. But what is not understandable is breaking the law in pursuit of it. Providing your children with options that they are not qualified for and taking those options AWAY from a qualified candidate is Unethical. For every spot taken by an undeserving student/athlete from the top Universities that participated in the College Scams, a truly qualified hard working candidate got rejected. That is wrong and heart wrenching for those students that suffered such a rejection after years of hard work! All the parents involved in the scam immediately upon participating in the scam created negative karma for themselves and their family. That karma took years to come back but it came. Currently, all the parents involved in the scams are dealing with a criminal case, losing their jobs/reputation, and their children are facing expulsion from the Colleges. Can they Right their wrongdoing after falling so hard from grace?
To right this karma there has to be an acknowledgment of the wrongdoing, a heartfelt apology, and acceptance of the consequences of their actions. Famous Actress Felicity Huffman, one of the parents involved, appeared in court recently and pleaded guilty while issuing an apology for her wrong doing, which was exactly the right approach. This situation for her was a turning point in her life where she understood the gravity of her actions and humbly accepted the consequences. She was enlightened. However, I was perplexed that the majority of the rich parents involved in the scam had the audacity not to take the plea deal offered by the Prosecution. They were probably still in denial of the extent of their wrongdoing and thinking that they were above the law given their high net worth. Well, they were in for what I called THE RUDE AWAKENING. That lack of understanding of the seriousness of the criminal charges made their case even worse. How Bad? Now their punishment is potentially TEN TIMES bigger than if they have taken the plea deal. Instead of facing a maximum of 2 years in prison they are now facing a maximum of 20 years as more criminal charges got added after they rejected the prosecutor’s plea deal. These parents are now facing their well deserved karma. Karma is simply the consequences of your actions that’s why you really need to think before you Act. Every day of your life, be very grateful for what you have and the Universe will provide more things to be grateful for; that is the key to a peaceful joyful life.
