You’re Going To Have To Be More Specific

The Humira ad is bugging me again. Specifically, the bit where they say:

Tell your doctor if you have been to areas where certain fungal infections are common

First off, they’re going to have to tell me which fungal infections. It’s only certain ones. Beyond that, I have very little knowledge of what fungal infections are common to what areas of the world. Thus, they might also need to tell me what areas of the world those are. Or, perhaps that could be in the stuff they provide that doctors look at before prescribing their medication.

I know this is probably a legal thing and it’s probably is supposed to get you to look up more information somewhere, but it really seems oddly worded and unhelpful. I mean, they really need to give a little bit more.

I’d worry about this even more if I had any need at all for Humira.
