Each Day We Improve

It’s one of those weeks that feel like a blur and by the end of my days I feel like my mouth is literally just sputtering because it is all out of steam. Surprisingly, my fingers have quite a bit of energy to type away—must have been all that time I spent writing that got them accustomed to the work load. Either way, you get the point, I’m exhausted.

I realize that we are ever busy and this seems to be the state of most people I talk to but for me, this particular busy is new because of a new position I took on at work. It’s funny as I realized it would be more work but even still, it is hard to conceptualize exactly what that feels like. And the other thing that we rarely factor in is that we aren’t quite as efficient at doing the new role as we may have been with the old role. I take longer to do things, I’m not as efficient or effective, but this is to be expected. Bottom line, I know that with time I will gain efficiencies, speed and effectiveness.

Lessons learned? Sometimes it is okay to be tired or exhausted. Most important is that we work in some time for relaxation and sanity. Each day is a learning experience and with that we grow to improve ourselves in some way and somehow.

Happy writing this week!
