With non-fiction we learn and fill our senses with past experience and new wonders. Fiction allows us the privilege of becoming part of a different dimension. We feel the emotions of the characters as we escape into their world and make them a part of our lives for the brief time it takes to read the book.
Reading is my preferred past time - obviously yours as well. There are many books in your list I have not yet read and I will keep this for future reference.
