Setup for this snippet: WIP from Heart and
Soul. This is a snippet from my new 'rock star romance' that I'm working
on. It's in the very early stages.

Last snippet: Maverick's lips curved and damn his wicked smile. It made it difficult to concentrate on anything else. "How did you like the acoustics?

"I loved it. Never thought to host bands in such small room but it definitely tells you if the band is talented or if they hide behind special effects."

"I like to keep it real."

She met his gaze. "Did you design the stage?"

He nodded. "I didn't know it would be a hit or not but it seems the people crave good music as much as I do."

She could fall in love with this guy and the thought petrified her. "I... better get...uh... back inside," she stammered and took a step back, causing Maverick's right brow to arch. "I don't want to miss the next set," she told him and hoped the heat she felt in her cheeks didn't show like bright pink blotches.

About Heart and Soul...

80s rock star, Haley Rose went missing without a trace on October 31
1988 and was eventually presumed dead. Three decades later, a
thirty-year old woman, Rowan Beckett recalls things only Haley Rose
would know and she can belt out songs in the same fashion as the missing
80s star. However, Rowan couldn't be the missing rock star since the
woman would now be in her fifties. Could Haley Rose have came back
reincarnated as Rowan Beckett?
