Getting A Schedule Together by Mandy Rosko
I’m a pantser sort of writer. I only need the names, various descriptions and basic setting and problems to work out my next plot, but I also work in Paranormal or Contemporary romance, so it’s not like I’m writing a heavily involved mystery every month that needs a huge amount of plotting and editing. But I’ve gotten used to this sort of thing.
I tend to just sit down and do a lot of writing. I crank out my words and try to get something that reasonably looks like a plot going. For this reason, I tend to be a little on the fly with things.
Including creating a schedule for releasing my upcoming books.
Which means there is almost never any schedule at all.
This is where I’ve got a friend of mine coming in. She’s started a small press and wants to create a schedule for me to get going, as well as help me out with the editing process, and a few other odds and ends.
I’m eager to see how it will turn out when it’s done, and if it will make a bigger difference in my writing schedule.
Which would be amazing, especially with the new job in the works.
I’ll have to try to keep track of how everything works out and feels in practice so I can come back and let you know how this had affected my schedule and output. For now, it’s just planning, but if you’re a writer, it’s always good to do a little planning
