And yay, today, if I'm lucky, I'll get time to read chapter 19 and vote! Woot!

A lot of comments have included "I don't like reality TV," and I think maybe it's not about liking reality TV at all, but whether a reality TV setting will provide interesting conflicts for characters. For instance, I love reading about pandemics and natural disasters. Not because I'm a fan of pandemics and natural disasters, but I like watching the characters go up against them. So I wonder if "I don't like reality TV" is working against Magic Mansion? Though probably "it's free and I'm bored" will make up for the preconception.

But Magic Mansion is a little different. I feel more connected to the characters... and maybe it's also because there's a gay romance going on that also is very attractive. For me, it's better than real reality shows. And maybe part of that is because we get to go "behind the cameras" and we get to see what's happening when the cameras are off, to see what the characters are really like, and how they're really reacting to each other.
Maybe I've got a lot of misconseptions, but I also feel like a lot of reality show characters are more selfish than anything. They want to win, and they're not about to help each other out. Here, though, there are some characters like that (Of course there's going to be a few) but not all of them are seen that way, and I like that.
This is so much more than a reality show, and I love it! And yes, I did get to finish chapter 19 in time for voting! Woot!
