New Novel on the Way (slowly!)

I’m chuffed to announce that I’ve just signed the contract for what will be my eighth novel with Bold Strokes Books. Hee!

The story is called Breathe and it’s a thriller/mystery/romance featuring Jemima Pardon, a paramedic with a stupid name, terrible luck, and chronic asthma, and her shenanigans with Rosie Jones, a slightly bonkers police officer. It’s set in and around Manchester, and, all being well, it’ll be published in September 2019.

All I have to do now is finish writing it…

Beth This sounds awesome, so thrilled we'll be getting another book from you! I love that you're keeping it Northern too ;) any chance you'll be bringing any of your lovely ladies to Leeds any time soon?!

Plenty to keep you going until next September then. If I were you, I'd start with No Good Reason. I remember a while ago you were asking for more variety in your lesfic. The Dark Peak books are about as far removed from your standard instalove romances as you can get.

I will always endeavour to keep things Northern - no matter how grumpy it makes some of my more random, non-UK readers :-D
Hmm, Leeds... probably not one of my likely locations. I just about got away with Sheffield for the Dark Peak books. No one questioned why all my supposed Yorkshire dwellers were so fond of Lancs/Manc slang, but I'm not sure I'd get away with Leeds!

Hey Cari !!

Indeed, I ask for variety and diversity ... Thanks for the info.
I'll see how things wil gog but right now, I have plenty on my plate on the reading side .. I'm currenly working on a betareading and have at least 3 others on their way + 1 omegareading until the end of the year... all this aside of the 2 Gerri Hill's novels (an ebook and a paperback) that I try to read as often as I can ...

Seriously ... I'm not a instalove romance fan (even far from it !!!) ... I really appreciate when the characters take their time, so your "Dark Peak" books should be a pleasant reading for me :-)

Corrie Excellent news!

Farah Fantastic news, I'm running out of supply.

Brooklyn Graham Great! Love your books. I've been putting off reading Alias because the idea that there is nothing out there beyond that was daunting. Now I can dive in! Looking forward to Breathe.
Brook

Ahh, I am so happy people have picked up on this from here. I always forget to update my blog until my wife prods me with a big stick (less fun than it sounds, believe me!) and it's lovely to see the Goodreads gang catching the post.

Excellent! Thanks for the enthusiasm. This one has been a lot of fun to write. I sort of set out to write something a lot lighter after the Dark Peak series and Alias but it seems I am 100% incapable of creating anything remotely akin to a romcom. It's certainly got its lighter moments and it's far more character/relationshippy than my crime books, but anyone expecting hearts and flowers...well, they probably know not to read my stuff in the first place ;-)
