Dislike!!!! 0 stars for this!...Well ok maybe 1 cos I kinda understand and would self be in a terrible place if something like that was happening to my friends. But those people, whoever they are, that behave like that and spread that kind of hatred and pain should not win and have no god damn right to run off authors, fans or anyone else away from anything...let alone from something so many of us love. I'm not a very experienced M/M reader, I kinda just started reading M/M this summer and it all started (as stated in my review) with one epic series...SF!
Nothing so far has ever come close to what Soldiers made me feel and I know for a fact I am not the only one who was swept away with that brilliant book.
The talent to write and create something like that should never be lost nor hidden and no damn troll should have the right nor the ability to take it away from us mortals who enjoy your and other authors work so much.
The gender, sexual orientation, race, religion and skin color of authors means nothing to fans of books of any genre! It's the book or a novel that should matter...does it touch us, does it make us feel and what, how deep, when and so on that should matter. How was it written, edited and do we like it and why..that should be the center of attention not if an author is a female, if she is black or white, short or tall. Fuck all that...it's the authors hard work I rate and rant about and I would hate it if I lost that.
Mr. Aleksandr I really hope you will reconsider one day and come back and start writing books in my now favorite book genre.
Sir I feel for your friends and am really sorry something so horrible happened to them. But not all us readers of this genre are like those people, not all of us care how an author looks or who the author prays to or what the authors do in their own private life's.
Your friends should know many of us are here for the work you writes put out, for the story's, worlds and characters you create and introduce us too.
We are here because we admire your work, talent and the imagination that lets us see and feel a different world trough your eyes. And not a single one of you should ever consider harming yourselves no matter what anyone says.
Sadly I have no good advice, I have never written anything in my life unless it was a school paper and even then I did horribly :D
All I know is that I do not want to lose the opportunity to read work that will inspire, touch or move me in any way. And that I am great full for how much and hard each one of you works and what you go trough to entertain, educate and reach us.
Sir I wish you all the best in future and hope your friends come out of this stronger then they have ever been. And I hope you all will continue to put out your hard work and share it with us, the M/M genre and the world in general would be a poorer place if we lost even one of the voices that resonates trough the paper and reaches us the readers when ever we open a book.
With love
Emina
I'm horrified and saddened to hear this, Aleks. This has been a dreadful week for m/m - a community which I have loved because it has seemed so welcoming and supportive of EVERYBODY - and I think it's tragic that you feel you have to make this decision. That said I'm sure that you'll be a star in whatever genre and I'll keep my eyes open in the bookstores for your trademarks - plot and pace and gritty realism.
Good luck *hugs* you'll be missed.
I'm saddened that because of a few people so many will suffer of losing the books you would have written in MM genre. But you have to do what will make you happy. If writing MM books will make you unhappy, when you shouldn't.Mostly, I agree with Cheryl comment. I couldn't have written better.
I hope the risen issue will help with problems transgender people have because of other people ignorance. We have a saying - there is nothing bad from which something good doesn't come (don't know how to translate, hope it's understandable).
Best of luck to You, do what makes you happy
I was shocked to learn what's been going on. Can't believe one person can spit out so much hatred and do so much damage not only to a fellow writer, but to the whole community. I don't know if it was an easy decision for you to leave. I can't imagine it was. But it's understandable. Please, take care and good luck. We will miss you.
I am sorry to read all this. When I read about that writer telling lies for years I was angry, I didn't like the fact that the author played people. I said this and this was everything I had to say on that matter.
I haven't see a witch-hunt but if people have received hateful mails privately it's plain horrible and there is no way it can be justified. I am sorry for the people who have been hurt and I am sorry that the lies of someone have brought all this.
I do hope that from the ashes something better will born. And I hope that if somebody went too far he/she will be able to recognise it and apologise.
I'm very sorry to hear you want to leave the genre. I wish you the best of luck with everything.
Please, take care.
Your decision is your decision, and it's made for you and your needs. Go with blessings and gratitude in your pockets. But it totally rots on ice that They Win, that bullies silence even a single voice, still less multiple voices. It impoverishes the community of fans to lose voices in the chorus because, whether we are transphobic or not, the whole cast is needed onstage to make this opera work.
Much success in the mainstream!
Dear Mr. Aleksander Voinov I am Sorry to hear you are quiting the gener M/M. I am a new fan of the special forces. I am supporting your decisions. Glade to hear you are going to contiune to write even if it different gener: but please dont let them win! fight back! again it your decision to do next. Hope you reture in the future and good luck

I can't believe people can be so nasty! Well I can believe it, but I am so sorry to hear it You don't deserve any off that. I am sorry to hear about your friend and what she is going through. And you too. You come across as a sincere and nice person and it saddens me that people have treated you so viciously. I send you all my love and support, that you are able to get through this hard time and come out on the other side surround by those who love you and lift you up. Xoxo

Egads, I only have a faint glimmer of what this is about as I spend very little time over at the m/m group anymore. I find it's gotten too large, and in any large crowd there will be people behaving badly. The larger the crowd, it seems, the more license people have to behave badly, even though it should be the other way around where the large crowd reigns in those few who (often so loudly) act irresponsibly.
I'll say this, that every community is made up of individuals. No community is comprised entirely of saints, there have to be at least a few lost souls or we wouldn't be human. While the lost and misguided may bark the loudest, they are not usually speaking for the entire pack. If writing m/m is what makes you happiest, then I do hope you'll continue to do it, and I hope (as someone who only recently read one of your books but plans to read several more) I'll be able to continue reading your work. When you put something out for the public, that public is always going to consist of at least a few asshats, but there will also be a greater number of kind, compassionate and open-minded readers who want to hear what you have to say. I wish I could give you a way to sell your work only to those who deserve to read it. Until I figure that one out, I wish you luck in future endeavors and hope that you'll remember that there are a lot of good people out there who enjoy your writing and think highly of both you and your work.
I'd love to read some of your future work. You don't have to tell me your new pen name, but maybe you could recommend a new up and coming author of fantasy, thrillers and historical novels that I should look out for. ;)
