They are waltzing in the middle of Vienna today. In the center of town on the Graben, the dance schools of Vienna have set up a stage and accompanied by a small orchestra, their students are waltzing to such tunes as Strauss' THE BLUE DANUBE and other old friends of the ear. A huge crowd has gathered and it's almost impossible to pass if you're walking there. So I stop a while and watch and even though I'm in a hurry to get to a meeting, I think how nice it is on this cold clear Fall day that somewhere in the world, in fact right where I am, people have taken time out to waltz a while around in the middle of life.
