Setup for this snippet: WIP from Heart and Soul. This is a snippet from my new 'rock star romance' that I'm working on. It's in the very early stages.



Last week Maverick informs Rowan he once played in a band.
Maverick's POV. Rowan is speaking first.

"So why don't you tell me which band you played in. I'm intrigued now."
He fished out his phone and looked for a video of the Roadside Reapers. Finding one where she could see him front and center as he played the bass and sang alongside Fields Harper who belted out the lyrics with a finesse that blended perfectly with his growling technique he'd mastered as a youth.
Rowan took the phone from him and watched the performance at The Hanger ten years ago if he could believe that. She swayed slightly to the beat. She didn't say a word until the video had finished. "I didn't know you played with the Roadside Reapers. They broke up a while back, didn't they?"
"Four years ago," Katie offered, "Though Maverick left the band before the final split and opened this place."
