Shepherd Of The Black Sheep is one of those stories that makes you think of movies like Orphan or The Good Son. The twist is carefully crafted and makes you think you know what's going to happen - and in a way you do- but then again...
The story is about an old man who's good for his word. He's not one of those men who wears their emotions on their sleeves, but if he loves you he loves you forever, No. Matter. What. And he is loyal to a fault.
After losing just about everyone he loves, he's even a widower, he does his best to care for Paige. Both their worlds are torn but together they do their best to coexist with their trauma and relationship. It's not until a terrible event and the lose of a friend that things become worse for wear. Tom thinks the girl will be emotionally ruined from so much death about her. He walks on eggshells and tries to help her but his grand daughter doesn't seem to respond the way one should have. She worries him. When someone comes to their home, posing a threat, he makes sure the threat goes away.But does the live beneath his roof... with him?
This book is written like one of those creepy thrillers that you can't stop watching- a train wreck in the making. I don't remember how I came across this author, but I'm so happy I found him or he found me. This was THE book of the month for me!
