Disenchantment

An Animated Original on Netflix by
Matt Groening

Picture So I found a new show to binge on. It's another Matt Groening creation, as you can tell, about a princess who simply wants to live her life. Sadly she's not very princessy and causes more mischief than any one gal can handle. Add to her antics an elf and a demon named Luci and you have a new show with 10 episodes!

So Disenchantment is about a gal who doesn't want to conduct her duties as a princess, which is to pretty much be used as a bargaining chip between two kingdoms. Her betrothed, the product of an incestual king and queen, is as about as smart as a rock- but he's handsome. Unfortunately, due to Princess Tiabeanie causing a disruption at her own wedding, he's removed from the marital equation, replace by the prince's brother. Nowhere near as good looking but containing all his mental faculties, he's set to step up to the plate. This is where the show kicks off.

Now while that brief summary is true, there's much more taking place. Stories like this one has been done before, but not through Groening's style of animation. I believe The Simpson's is losing steam after near all my life (crazy!) and we all know what happened with Futurama (which I still watch to this day!), Netflix seems to be the way to go. Shows last longer or when they fail, people can still watch and rate!

Right now, I'm not sure how I truly feel. It's got its share of funny moments but none of them made me burst with laughter, like Groening's other shows.I like it, but I want to love it, yet I can't- you know? Below I shared the trailer. Disenchantment released on August 17th. Hope you enjoy it.

I'm off to the next view, I guess. Cheers!
