I thought my alarm clock was starting to go out. It’s ten years old now and the display was going dim. I thought that was age. Turns out, I’m apparently an idiot.
You see, we got our house ready to put on the market a few weeks ago. I had to put away the power strip I used by the bed and plug in fewer things, including my alarm clock. As it happens, I plugged the alarm into the outlet controlled by a wall switch, one apparently designed for use with a bedside lamp.
It also has a dimmer switch, the reason my alarm has been dim.
I didn’t even remember we had that. I only realized when an inspector turned off the switch and my alarm was the only thing in the room not working.
I can’t believe I’ve had my alarm on a dimmer for three weeks.
