The Little Engine that Could

Hello! I hope you can hear the excitement in my tone! Here's my story: I arrived home today after picking my two babies up from their Auntie's. Juggling my laptop bag, the diaper bag, and groceries, I barely had the stamina to go for the mail, too. But I am so glad I did! Inside, I found the little royalty check that could! My first! I thought I hadn't met whatever dollar limits they have for paying out last quarter. I only have the one book out, and hotcakes it apparently is not -- or at least it hasn't been selling that way. So I was super ecstatic to find a check for $22.88 in my mailbox! Small, to be sure, yet that's $22.88 more than I've ever made on my writing before! (I've just noticed I need to cut out the exclamation points; I'm sure I'm driving you exclamation crazy right now. I'll try to control myself. See, I wanted to do it right there, because I am positively squealing in delight.)

In terms of a writing update -- I haven't made any progress since Sunday. However, I am $22.88 richer. And so happy! (I snuck another one in there. I'll quit now.)
