Surgery and Stumbling Blocks
Ye gods, minor surgery AGAIN! Yep, going into hospital tomorrow for an overnight stay (because it's fun, right?). Hence I'll be off-line for a couple of days. I can't think of any other way I'd rather spend my days off (insert sarcasm here...in BIG letters).
Apart from that, my other stumbling block with this new book is that - IT'S NOT FREAKING WORKING! I've been having serious issues with it (as my friends can attest to, seeing as I'm always whinging to them in emails - looking at you, Clare). The characters aren't jelling, there's no spark between the characters, the story line is dull and uninspiring...it's just been a real slog to write.
So after 3 chapters I'm scrapping it and starting again. I hate doing it, because it's going to put my writing schedule behind, but no way will I write and put out a book that isn't to my satisfaction. It's not fair on me, the writer, and definitely not fair on you, the people who support my writing and keep me laughing and smiling and warm and fuzzy with your friendship. I refuse to put out a book that I consider dull and uninspiring. Hence the fresh start.
So while I'm recovering and off-line, I'll be jotting down new ideas in a notebook so that when I can next hit the computer (hopefully early next week), I have a new plot outlined and am ready to burn up the keyboard!
So until I come back on-line - keep smiling!

I'm back on deck. Well, recovering from surgery and doing lots of sofa surfing and reading and watching horror DVDs that have built up over the past months waiting for me to have time to watch them. The cats keep stealing my little knee blankie that I like to snuggle up with (it's winter down under and raining heaps), but they're also keeping me company, so how can I begrudge them my blankie?!I have been able to get a little time at the computer the last two days, but not long. Have been plotting, however, so I'm not totally wasting my time. wait...I'm also reading heaps. That is certainly not wasting time! What am I saying?!
Get well soon! Speedy recovery and lots of creative juices flowing : ) Oh, and please send some of that cold and rain here, we are boiling in this blasted heatwave :C

Terrible. One of my friends got back from Ireland and said it's officially in a drought! (Really? the Emerald Isle???)My brother lives in South Australia - last year his town got heaps of rain, this year dry as a desert, yet here in West Australia on the coast we're having rain upon rain upon rain! It's weird...
