Zero Day

a series by Ezekiel Boone Picture When I came across The Hatching series, by Ezekiel Boone , I knew it was the series for me! I purchased The Hatching, both the hard cover book and audio. I listened to the story in a day! It was absolutely amazing! When book two, Skitter came out, I was looking for the same maniacal arachnophobia with a serious case of entertainingly grossed out horror. I did not. Actually I was a bit let down, but still enjoyed the storyline. So what did I think of Zero Day, the final installment of this creepy crawly series? #element-05acb282-08c5-429d-8185-8db14ccca47f .waddons-blog-image.hideImage { display: none;} Picture Picture In Zero Day, the world is doing their best to end the monsters but they can't keep up. They are evolving in a matter of months, their venom just as poisonous AND they seem to have a plan!

The world does their best to handle the constant upgrades in their eight-legged foes but they aren't doing so well. They've nuked the country and done their best to quarantine infected locations, but will it be enough? Can they stop the monsters? And what about the humans that always go nutso when the apocalypse rears its ugly head?

The story still progressed and are to a satisfactory ending, but all the thrill and icky grossness that blossomed in book one never really returned. It was a bit of a bummer. I don't know if anyone else felt that way, but it's almost as if Boone just fizzled out on what to do with the monsters and the people. He gave book one 1000% then just fell away... It's hard writing books.

So I enjoyed the story and the other books, but I almost wish he'd come out with one more, filled with everything missing from books 2 & 3. Then end it!

Check out The Hatching series- but read The Hatching! That will get you like no other spider story could! Cheers!
