75 Years Ago—June 20, 1943: British Gen. Sir Claude Auchinleck succeeds Field Marshal Sir Archibald Wavell as Commander-in-Chief of India.


New Quebec/Chubb Crater (now called Pingualuit Crater) is discovered in northern Québec by a US Army Air Force plane on a meteorological flight, 3 kilometers in diameter.
