Featured - Character Interview with Myah from "Blood Instincts" by Marie Lavender

Character Interview Devika: Welcome, Myah. I’m so excited to have you over. Please have a seat.

Myah: Thank you so much for having me here!

Devika: Myah, I’m curious to find out more about you. Can you describe yourself in 5 words?

Myah: Pragmatic, fashionable, reliable, number-cruncher, and normal.

Devika: Okay. What about your job? What do you do for a living, and is it your dream job?

Myah: I am an accountant at Pricewaterhouse Cooopers in Baltimore. I don’t know about ‘dream job’. I just naturally moved into considering that as a career when I had an affinity with numbers as a young teen.

Devika: I see. So how did you meet Oliver?

Myah: That’s a bit more complicated. He showed up after I was mugged and attacked once in the park. It could’ve been much worse, but he was there in record time. I don’t get why I’m so drawn to him either.

Devika: Fascinating. And what about those supernatural powers you have – do they scare you or fascinate you?
 
Myah: Oh, don’t remind me. It has…been a bit difficult to come to terms with being a hybrid. I guess it’s scary, to learn you’re suddenly more than you ever thought. Sometimes I don’t even know if I believe what people have told me about myself.

Devika: Tell us more about yourself. What’s your biggest fear and biggest dream?

Myah: My biggest fear is that my whole life will change because of this new world I found myself in.
 
Can I be honest? My biggest dream is a little silly. I wish there was a way I could reconnect with my mother again, even though it seems impossible.

Devika: That makes sense. If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?

Myah: I always felt like I was different than other people somehow, that I was going at a separate pace than them. Something was off. I’d like to understand that better.

Devika: Okay. Would you say you live in the past, the present or the future?

Myah: I live in the now. I usually don’t like to look at the past too much, or wonder about what’s coming next.

Devika: I’d love to talk some more, but unfortunately our time is up. Thanks so much for stopping by. *waves*
