Lie to Me by J.T. Ellison

Lie to Me Lie to Me by J.T. Ellison

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

J.T Ellison once again proves why she is one of the writers I regularly read. This domestic suspense thriller features one Ethan Montclair, a writer once at the top of his game who finds himself facing writer's block a few years later while his wife Sutton achieves success. He wants a baby. She does not. But she ends up pregnant (thanks to one of Ethan's many deceptions) and a year later the baby dies. Quietly, they each wonder if the other is responsible, although the death is initially determined to be SIDS. Then Sutton disappears. A body is found. With a cast of deceptive characters, the reader begins to wonder who is really orchestrating the demise of Ethan and Sutton Montclair and why. Is it Ethan and his selfish tendencies? Or is it Sutton and her hidden past? No spoilers, but I suspected who was really behind Ethan and Sutton's marital issues early along, although J.T. surprised me with the revelation of the person's true identify at the end. Good read, recommended.
