It’s Hard To Feel Spooky When It’s Hot

So we finally got to stay at the Stanley Hotel in Estes this weekend. You know, the inspiration for the Overlook Hotel in The Shining. I wish I could say that it was spooky. However, you don’t really get a spooky feel when it’s hot as b*lls.

Seriously, the Stanley Hotel does not apparently have air conditioning. There are some new buildings that have been added on the grounds that do, but staying at those wouldn’t be staying at the Stanley Hotel. So, we stayed on the fourth floor (the top) with no air conditioning. It was 87 degrees outside. Even with the windows open, it wasn’t comfortable until something like 4 am. It was just too hot to feel in any way spooky. As such, it was just a cool old hotel that was a bit uncomfortable and needed some maintenance.

Frankly, my wife said she was hoping a ghost would show up. She heard the temperature dropped when that happened.
