Featured - Character Interview with Fara & Grant from Marie Lavender's "Hereisses in Love" Trilogy (Part 2)
Two weeks ago, I had Fara and Grant, the couple from the "Heiresses in Love" Trilogy by Marie Lavender, on my blog for an interview. These questions were meant for their young versions at the beginning of the trilogy, and you can read the Q&A here. Today, their older versions from later on in the saga are talking to me!
Character Interview with Fara & Grant (now) Devika: Welcome back, Fara and Grant! It’s wonderful to see you two still together after all this time.
Grant: Thank you so much for the invitation. (He squeezes Fara to his side.) We’re very pleased to be here.
Fara (smiling): Yes, thank you, dear, for letting us visit.
Devika: Would you say there was a decisive moment in your life that made you who you are today?
Grant: (He nods.) Yes, I ended up on the streets at a young age, and I worked to make a name for myself on different ships.
Fara: I think losing my parents changed me. Even though I mourn them every day, I’d like to believe I’ve become stronger.
Devika: Okay. And what was the greatest obstacle you had to overcome?
(They exchange a look.)
Grant: My occupation as a captain takes me away from Fara so often. We’ve…had to overcome quite a few pitfalls.
Devika: Sorry, I didn’t mean to dampen the mood. Why don’t we focus on the more positive things? Tell me about your two children.
Fara: (She touches Devika’s hand.) What would you like to know first? How much trouble they both were as children? (Chuckles.) In all seriousness, both of our children, Gabriel and Adrienne, are all grown up now, and they’re quickly establishing lives of their own. I’ll leave the rest to your imagination.
Devika: Would you say that marriage has changed you? How?
Grant: Yes, in many ways. I think marriage has forced me to approach my position differently, and being a father changed me. Having a true family, people who depend on me every day, that makes you look at life in a whole new light.
Fara: He’s right. It’s no longer you on your own; every decision you make has an effect on someone else.
Devika: Any plans for the future?
Fara: (She blushes, then sneaks a glance at her husband.) Well…you could say that I’m taking a more active role on La Voyageur, Grant’s clipper ship. But I won’t give away too much.
Devika: Thanks so much for stopping by again, Fara and Grant. I wish you all the best. *waves*
